Joe is a graduate of Naugatuck High School. He received his B.S. degree from LaSalle College where he was selected as the Outstanding Student in the General Business Administration and was inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Honor Society. After college, Joe attended Loyola University School of Law where he received a Juris Doctor Degree and was a member of the 1974 National Championship Moot Court Team. Following graduation from law school Joe was admitted to the practice of law in the State of Connecticut. He was engaged in the private practice of law from 1976 until November 2003 when he was appointed as a Judge of the Superior Court of the State of Connecticut. In March 2004 he left the Bench and began work as a private Mediator and Arbitrator.
Joe has held a Real Estate Broker’s license since 1972 and was an active agent while attending college and law school. In June 2009 he began his association with Bannon & Herbert Properties, LLC. During this time he received an award as Agent of the Month and has recently expanded his real estate practice to include representation of sellers and buyers in commercial, retail and industrial sales, leasing and purchases. His legal and real estate brokerage expertise provide his clients with optimal representation.
Joe is currently a Director of the Saint Mary’s Hospital System and Diagnostic Radiology of Southbury. In the past he has served on the Board of Trustees of the Connecticut State University System and was the Chairman of the State of Connecticut Judicial Selection Commission.
Joe & his wife Kathy reside in Middlebury, CT. They are the parents of two adult sons, Adam and Paul and have one granddaughter.
